How AETHEL works with artists

Submit your portfolio, select your discipline, and choose your engagement model — residency or direct project collaboration.
Curatorial Review
Our team evaluates your practice against our standards. We look for rigour, originality, and a vision that extends beyond commercial viability.
Onboarding
Accepted artists begin at the Wood tier. Your profile is built, your work is documented, and your first commission brief is prepared.
Earn & Ascend
Every commission completed, critique attended, and collaboration undertaken earns you points. Points unlock higher tiers — and higher earnings.
Transparency
What you earn, by tier
AETHEL earns a curatorial fee on each commission. The rest goes to you. As you ascend the tier ladder, our fee decreases and your earnings grow. There are no hidden costs, no studio rent, no marketing fees.
Average commission values are indicative and vary by discipline, complexity, and collector budget. Additionally, for benefit auction events, collaborating artists receive 25% of the hammer price shared equally.
Deep Engagement
The Residency Programme
Our residency is not a traditional artist-in-residence. It is a 6–12 month immersive curatorial incubation in Pino Torinese, Piedmont. Selected artists produce site-specific, exhibition-ready work that enters the collection or is acquired by our collector network.
Residents receive studio access, material stipends, mentorship, and direct access to our collector relationships. In exchange, they commit to the process, the community, and the programme.
